The J. Morey Company, in conjunction with its parent company, Ori-gen, offers insurance solutions that support communities and help legacy businesses across California persevere. Similarly, Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) breaks language, cultural, and institutional barriers to help Asian Pacific Islander communities overcome and prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence. Through this shared vision of uplifting historically overlooked populations, The J. Morey Company has worked closely with CPAF for more than 15 years, providing the organization with necessary insurance solutions for their business, while also championing its important work within the community.
The J. Morey Company sustains their partnership with consistent, meaningful contributions, including a $5,000 annual Sustainer Sponsorship of CPAF’s benefit to end violence, pro-bono educational sessions for staff, and hands-on volunteering. Last year, The J. Morey Company and Ori-gen employees donated over 2,000 essential items and filled 77 backpacks for CPAF’s Back-to-School Drive, bringing both joy to children and financial relief for mothers in the only emergency shelter in Los Angeles County culturally specialized for serving Asian and Pacific Islander survivors.
“We believe businesses have a responsibility to protect and empower vulnerable communities,” says Sara Hutter, Ori-gen’s Community Relations Director. “Working with CPAF lets us turn that belief into action—providing resources, education, and a pathway to safety.”
A $10,000 Make More Happen Award would fund CPAF’s ROAD HOME initiative, delivering housing navigation, culturally responsive advocacy, and up to six months of flexible financial assistance so survivors with limited English proficiency can access and maintain stable housing.
With your vote, The J. Morey Company and CPAF can ease economic burdens and help survivors rebuild their lives.
