Marie Puetz, an Account Executive at Brown & Brown Insurance of Arizona, participates in the Day Foster Program with Community Canine Project and is pictured with a dog she lovingly named Snacks.
At this event, county municipal shelter volunteers can take adoptable dogs out of the shelter to learn more about their personalities to share valuable information with potential adopters, gain exposure and most importantly to give these dogs a reprieve from the daily stressful shelter environment. Community Canine Project is a volunteer-run organization that provides support to Phoenix municipal shelters through grants, in-shelter enrichment, day fostering, playgroups, photography, networking and community adoption events.
Puetz has been an active volunteer for two and a half years and is happy to take advantage of the paid volunteer hours Brown & Brown offers their employees annually. She can be found spending most weekends at the shelter representing Community Canine Project and getting dogs out of their kennels for one-on-one time, socializing them and practicing her photography skills in an effort to help more dogs have a better chance of being seen on social media and the county’s Animal Care & Control website.
And since we know you’re all wondering, yes! Snacks has since been adopted!
