Empowering kids to become future agricultural leaders

Recognizing the vital role agriculture plays in sustaining the local economy and way of life, Three Rivers Insurance embraces Parents Promoting Ag’s mission to provide youth with hands-on learning experiences through competitions, camps, and educational events.

“Our agency is committed to protecting and empowering people across Treasure Valley, which aligns perfectly with Parents Promoting Ag’s focus on youth empowerment,” says agency owner Michael Holcomb. “Equipping young people with knowledge and skills ensures that the future of agriculture remains bright and sustainable in our region.”

Three Rivers Insurance actively participates in Parents Promoting Ag’s key fundraising efforts, including sponsoring a hole at their annual Golf Scramble and supporting the Casino Royale fundraiser each fall. The funds raised have helped send youth to prestigious events like the National FFA Convention, Arizona National Livestock Judging Contest, and the Denver National Western Stock Show, easing financial burdens for families and creating invaluable experiences for young agricultural enthusiasts. Agent Karol Burlile volunteers monthly by attending meetings and assisting at the annual livestock clinic, where 4-H and Future Farmer of America (FFA) youth receive expert guidance on their projects through personalized, hands-on training.

If awarded the $10,000 Make More Happen Award, Parents Promoting Ag could expand access for youth to attend camps or clinics, as well as host community education events focused on crop management, commercial cattle operations, livestock production, or business leadership—further cultivating essential skills in local youth.
