The staff at First Arkansas Insurance shares a love for helping their community and that community includes animals. Led by marketing director Emily Kelley’s volunteer efforts, the agency teamed up with Rescue Road to give animals in need a second chance.
Rescue Road redirects healthy, adoptable dogs from high‑kill shelters into caring foster networks in Arkansas, then sends them north to “furever” families across New England. First Arkansas Insurance employees regularly walk, bathe, and transport dogs, donate food and supplies, and give financially when needs arise. Kelley spends several afternoons a month socializing and exercising animals at the Pine Bluff shelter. The agency’s Chief Operating Officer Nick Cox and Vice President David Beck have fostered or adopted dogs over the years, changing the lives of both agency employees and their new companions.
“We’re in the business of creating lifelines for community members, and we believe that compassion extends to man’s best friend,” says Kelley. “Everyone at our agency is proud to pitch in to get animals the care and connections they need.”
With a Make More Happen Award, Rescue Road can fund essential medical care such as vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, dental work, injury treatments and surgeries, while also increasing Rescue Road’s ability to respond to emergencies.
