For Bender Insurance Solutions, the fight against blood cancers is deeply personal. Founder Warren Bender and his daughter, Marsha Skinner, both lost their battles with the disease, and to honor their legacy, the agency has shown unwavering dedication to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Since the early 2000s, Bender Insurance Solutions has proudly contributed over $400,000 to support LLS’s vital work to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
“Our passion for this cause is fueled by personal experience, seeing how many beloved staff, clients and community members are touched by this disease,” shares Jillian Bender-Cormier, Head of Culture and Engagement, Bender Insurance Solutions. “By fundraising year-round, our agency hopes to bring light to patients and their families and to fund the research that will one day find a cure.”
The agency’s support goes beyond donations. This November, the agency will rally around its Light the Night team, an annual illuminated walk to remember and spread hope to those affected by blood cancers. Agency team members also participate in marathons, triathlons, and cycling events through LLS’s Team in Training. They’ve hosted impactful fundraisers like “Bunco for a Cause,” “Ladies’ Night for LLS,” and charity golf tournaments, raising hundreds of thousands for blood cancer research and patient support. Agency leaders also donate their time and expertise as board members, and recently the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society recognized Bender Insurance Solutions as a top corporate fundraiser and team, earning the agency the prestigious Decades of Impact Award.
A $10,000 Make More Happen Award would further fuel LLS’s life-saving mission, funding cutting-edge research and providing crucial resources for patients and families. Vote for Bender Insurance Solutions and help light the path toward a cancer-free future.
