The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Since 2018, Davis Insurance Advisors has joined up with their local chapter to support this mission.

“Like insurance agents, the American Red Cross is always there in times of need. They turn compassion into action so that when disasters strike, our communities are ready and prepared, and those affected across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope. It’s a mission that resonates with our agency and we’ve developed a longstanding partnership to directly affect lives in the Appalachian community,” says Katie Luckini, Davis Insurance Advisors.

As a Community Volunteer Leader, Katie regularly organizes volunteers for events throughout the year, including staffing the canteen at blood drives and recruiting for public safety campaigns. Her efforts have inspired Davis Insurance Advisors employees to roll up their sleeves and donate time, money and blood, as well as leverage agency connections in the business community. The agency participates in the annual Sound the Alarm campaign, which works with low-income communities to install free smoke alarms, create escape plans, and share fire safety information. Throughout the year, the agency also supports a variety of blood drives, notably the Demetry “Mack” Walker Memorial Blood Drive. Since 2021, the drive has raised awareness about the need for diverse blood donors and brings in close to 50-60 units of lifesaving blood every year.

Every day, the Red Cross holds approximately 500 blood drives across the country. Behind every drive, there are skilled staff, specialized equipment and transportation, and testing to ensure the safety, blood typing and extraordinary care of our blood donors. An average drive costs $5,000 – with a $10,000 Make More Happen Award, Davis Insurance Advisors could help the Red Cross cover the cost of two community-led blood drives. Vote for their story to help save lives!

Love you guys! Thanks for all the support.
Davis Insurance has promoted blood drives, contributed to events and smoke alarm installs, sponsored a board membership, and generally helped or enabled the staff to help in countless ways. So glad to see them recognized like this.
Now, keep voting!
