Happiness Bag helps individuals with developmental needs build independence, inclusion, and long-term well-being through high-quality, sustainable programs. Since joining the organization in 2013, Jana Crowder has dedicated much of her adult life to advancing that mission, while EPIC Insurance Midwest has stood behind her through leadership support, employee participation, public advocacy, and financial contributions. As Vice President of the Board and a member of several committees, Jana helps guide strategy and fundraising, and she also brings Happiness Bag to life for the community by appearing as Sunny the Happiness Bag at public events.
That spirit was on full display during 12 Points Night Out, when EPIC’s support helped Jana attend as Sunny alongside several of Happiness Bag’s friends to lead inclusive exercises for local children and families. The event created a welcoming space for movement, confidence, and connection, while showing how community partnerships can open doors for people of all abilities.
“EPIC’s support helps us turn inclusion into action,” says Jana Crowder. “It allows Happiness Bag to reach more people, strengthen community connections, and create meaningful opportunities for our friends to thrive.”
A $10,000 Make More Happen Award would help Happiness Bag expand classes and community outings, covering supplies, transportation, facility access, and staffing for programs that build life skills, social interaction, and healthy living.
